Founder-Director Claire trained in dance at the National Dance Agency, Swindon Dance. Claire has worked with choreographers and companies such as Wayne McGregor, Christopher Bruce, RJC and Phoenix and performed across the UK on stage and on television.
Having taught dance across the UK, Far East, Australia and West Africa, Claire has reached children and young people all over the world. Her experience in commercial companies has also developed her business and managerial skills, which has proved valuable in expanding Funky Feet in to the successful Franchise that it has now become.
Alongside Claire’s performing and professional development in dance and teaching, Claire has worked with children and young people in contexts outside of dance in settings which include inner city schools, residential children’s homes and young offender institutes in the East Midlands and in education centres in South East Asia.
With a BSc (Hons), PCEP in Youth Justice and CYQ qualification as a Fitness Instructor, Claire is an ambassador for the arts, particularly dance. Claire strongly believes that dance can be a vehicle to engage with all children and young people in a creative and expressive way and that it can provide an exciting alternative to competitive sports when considering fitness and flexibility and general health and wellbeing.
