Arts Award Qualification

The Arts Award is a national qualification which recognises how young people aged 11-25 develop as artists and arts leaders. It is aimed at any young person who is interested in taking part in one or more art forms and sharing what they learn with others. The Arts Award has no time limit and a realistic time scale will be arranged with Funky Feet. The Arts Award is a collaboration between Trinity Guildhall and Arts Council England.
The Arts Award is a personal learning programme which develops and assesses both arts-related skills (arts knowledge and understanding) and transferable skills (creativity, communication, planning and review, teamwork and leadership).
The Arts Award is a QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) qualification and sits on the National Qualifications Framework at levels 1, 2 and 3. The ‘levels’ fit into the QCA’s framework and refers to the responsibility, level of guidance and support required and the amount of independent learning expected of the student. The Arts Awards are not like music grades or Ballet exams, where skillsare judged. This is about a young person’s personal development and achievement.
